AOAIPA Celebrates Historic Passage of Acupuncture Access Legislation by Both Houses of the New York State Legislature

Today, New York State’s Acupuncture Access Legislation successfully passed the New York State Senate, completing approval by both the New York State Assembly and Senate. The bill will now be submitted to the Governor’s Office for consideration.

The Acupuncture of America Independent Practice Association (AOAIPA) proudly celebrates this significant achievement and extends its sincere gratitude to all legislators who supported this important legislation. The passage of the bill will help expand access to acupuncture services for New Yorkers, providing patients with greater access to safe, effective, and non-pharmacological treatment options while supporting preventive healthcare and helping reduce long-term healthcare expenditures.

AOAIPA would like to express its special appreciation to Assembly member Ron Kim, Senator Kevin Parker, and Senator John Liu, as well as all legislators who co-sponsored and voted in favor of this legislation. Their leadership, vision, and dedication have been instrumental in advancing this historic milestone for healthcare access in New York State.

For many years, AOAIPA has advocated that acupuncture is not merely a professional issue for the acupuncture community, but an evidence-based healthcare option that can improve patient outcomes, expand access to non-drug therapies, support chronic disease management, and contribute to a more cost-effective healthcare system.
